How to Pack a Shoe Box?

 

1.      Shoe box / Plastic box

l          Dimensions: Approx. 30 cm * 18 cm * 12 cm (L*W*H)

l          You can wrap the box with gift paper (lid separately) but do not seal the box

 

2.      Boy or Girl?

l          Determine whether your gift is for a boy or a girl

l          The child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14 years

l          Use the appropriate BOY/GIRL label from the brochure & mark the correct age category, then tape the label onto the top of your box lid

l          If you need extra labels for additional gifts, please download from our website http://sp.org.hk/en/download_zone

 

3.      Fill with Gifts

l          Fill the box with a variety of gifts, according to the gender and age of the child

l          Items should be new or unused: please refer to: “Gift Suggestions” section

l          For items to exclude, please refer to: “*Do not include” section

 

4.      Pray

l          for the child who will receive your shoe box and

l          that God will match your gift with the child who needs it most

 

5.      Donation

l          We encourage you to donate HK$60 for each gift box you packed

l          Donations will be used for printing the Gospel booklet and following up materials, shipping, handling and storage expenses etc

l          Please refer to instructions on “Donation Envelope” on the brochure

 

6.      Drop off

l          Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box

l          Do not seal the box as we need to open it later for inspection purpose

l          Drop off at the nearest Collection Point between Nov 28 – Dec 8

Gift Suggestions

Stationery

Pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc

 

Toys

Small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed toy animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small drawing board, toys that light up or make sounds (with extra batteries), etc

 

Hygiene Items

Toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc

 

Others

T-shirts, socks, caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries)

 

A Personal Note

If you wish, you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family in a separate envelope. (If you include your name and address, the child may write back.)

 

*Do not include

Currency of any country; used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; candies or food; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snowglobes, mirrors or glass containers; aerosol cans
